That phrase - "enjoy what you can; endure the rest" - is written in chalk on a green chalkboard inside the dining work area of Noyer. It greets every person that works there as they leave, every day offering the same platitude. Its written in a confident hand, broadly, and with curls. The cursive strokes were designed for a hallmark card. I can't decide whether its patronizing or uplifting in some cheesy way.
Is this what people do with their lives?
In other news, I've met two rather interesting international students - Sangita Shakya and Immanuel Kwame Teye. In a satisfylingly cliche fashion its been refreshing and eye-opening talking to them.
I'm trying to record some songs right now, but I lack a piano. I have them pretty much written out - I just need to get some files for them. oh well.
